Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:14-16
Jesus came to Earth and confronted every trial, feeling, fear, and emotion we will ever encounter, at its root. We can approach His presence with confidence because we are assured of his mercy and grace. In the places that we need it most, Jesus is able to apply his healing balm of peace, which comes from his presence when we seek him.
Motherhood is challenging. Life is tough. Some waves carry more momentum, and crash over us with brute force, while others seem more tolerable, but are more repetitive, wearing us down all the same. No one gets a free pass from the darts of hardship life throws. But what we do get, as women of faith, is the blessed assurance that God is going to be with us.
In whatever you face today, lean into Jesus’ grace, mercy, and love. Seek his face and you will find kindness and compassion in full. Look into his eyes, and you will discover a sea of unconditional love and unharnessed peace. It will flood your heart, mind, and soul. It will unveil the truth that the glory of God is in you. You do have the strength to stand. In whatever it is you are going through, seek his face for the life giving support you so desperately need.
Jesus loves you flaws, fears, failures, and all. What blessed assurance we have because of Jesus’ righteous blood.
Thank you Jesus for forgiveness. Thank you for finding me, and drawing me out from the dark places where I tend to hide. Thank you for your illuminating Truth that proclaims the promise: You are with me. You are for me. You have already gone before me.
Dear Jesus,
I know you feel my pain. You wipe away my tears, and store them in jars of clay (Psalm 56:8). My pain serves a purpose. I praise you for this assurance.
You feel my heartbreaks as if they were your own. You provide for my every need. You are a good Father.
Even when I walk through the darkest of valleys, I know that you are with me. This truth gives me confidence that in whatever I walk through, I can cling tight to your guiding hand.
You recognize my earthly sorrows as a heart that longs to be with you in paradise. Until that glorious day, Jesus make a way. On Earth as it is in Heaven, Lord, your Kingdom come. Your will be done. In Jesus’ hallowed name, amen.
Steps of Faith:
Some plants are known as “root-sprouters” and grow adventitious shoots that extend from their roots. This aids their ability to replicate and multiply. When people recognize that we have roots sunk deep into God’s Word and his holy presence in our lives, our roots bear witness for Christ. Through the everchanging seasons of life, may we firmly plant ourselves in the Truth of God’s promises, and advance deep roots that depend on His Holy Word for strength, support, and steady growth. Read Psalm 1:1-3:
Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers.
